Wilderness Series · Camp Power & Lighting

A low-voltage ceiling light built for the wiring you already have in a camper, van, trailer or boat cabin. Runs on a DC 12–30V supply, dims from 10 to 100 per cent by remote, and cycles through three colour temperatures between 3000K and 6500K. It remembers the last setting you used, so it comes back the way you left it.

Field Notes

Warm light at low output is what you want late at night in a small cabin; cool light at full output is what you want when you are looking for something in a storage locker. Having both on one fixture, adjustable from where you are already sitting, is the practical argument for this light over a fixed dome lamp.

01Why You'll Like It

Most factory-fitted camper and cabin lights give you one colour and one brightness. That single setting is either too harsh for reading in a bunk or too dim to work by, and the switch is usually on the far side of the room from wherever you end up sitting.

This fixture solves both problems on the wiring you already have. It accepts the same 12V DC circuit that runs the rest of a camper, van, trailer or boat cabin, so there is no inverter and no separate power supply. The two-button remote handles brightness and colour from across the space, and the light comes back on at the setting you last used rather than resetting to full white.

02Key Features

Wide 12–30V DC input

The fixture runs on any DC supply between 12 and 30 volts, which covers standard 12V camper and boat circuits as well as 24V systems found in larger rigs.

Three colour temperatures

Cycle between warm and cool light across a 3000K to 6500K range — warm for evenings and sleeping areas, neutral for general use, cool for tasks and storage.

Stepped remote dimming

The brightness button steps output in 10 per cent increments between 10 and 100 per cent, or holds to sweep the full range in about 2.5 seconds.

Setting memory

The light stores the last colour and colour temperature you used and returns to it on the next power-on, instead of defaulting back to full-brightness white.

One-key switch on the fixture

A short press powers on and cycles the lighting modes; a 1.2-second hold switches off. The remote is a convenience, not a requirement for basic operation.

Straightforward screw mounting

The housing fixes with screws and wires in on two leads — red to positive, white to negative — so it drops into an existing low-voltage lighting circuit.

05Installation & Safety

Disconnect the circuit before wiring the fixture
Connect red to positive and white to negative
Confirm polarity before restoring power
Use a DC supply within the 12–30V range only
Never connect this fixture to AC mains power
Secure all screws into solid backing material
Pair the remote by holding both buttons at power-on
Wipe the lens with a dry or barely damp cloth only

This fixture is supplied without an ingress-protection rating, so mount it in a dry, covered interior position rather than an exposed deck, bilge or splash-prone location. If you are not confident working on vehicle or marine 12V wiring, have the installation completed by a qualified auto-electrician or marine technician.

Warm and low for the evening, cool and bright for the work — from one fixture.
