Real espresso, powered entirely by your hand. 18 bar of pressure through freshly ground coffee — no battery, no capsules, no electricity of any kind. At 285g and 125mm it fits a jacket pocket and works anywhere you can boil water.
Field Notes
The smallest and lightest of the Minipresso line, and the one that finally makes espresso a packable item rather than a luxury you leave behind. Grind fine, tamp properly, and the first eight strokes will tell you it's building real pressure — the crema on the other side is the proof.
01Before You Brew
Hot Water Required
There is no internal heating element — the GR2 does not heat water, and that's deliberate. Supplying your own freshly boiled water is what keeps it battery-free, indefinitely usable, and down to 285g. Pair it with a camp stove or a vacuum flask for fully off-grid coffee.

03Adjustable Basket
Standard — 8g
Default configuration. A concentrated single espresso up to ~45ml, with a faster pumping sequence. Best for darker roasts and ristretto-style shots.
Extended — 12g
Remove the adjustment washer to expand capacity to 12g for a stronger, fuller shot up to 60ml. Better for medium roasts and longer extractions — on reassembly, the washer inscriptions face down.
04How to Brew
| 01 · Grind & dose | Measure 8g (standard) or 12g (extended) of fine-ground coffee with the included scoop |
| 02 · Load & tamp | Position the outlet head over the scoop, flip to transfer, then tamp with the back of the spoon for a compact puck |
| 03 · Fill the tank | Add freshly boiled water to the 80ml tank and screw the lid tight |
| 04 · Unlock the piston | Turn the piston counter-clockwise out of its travel-lock position |
| 05 · Pump to extract | The first eight strokes build pressure — continue slowly and evenly until you reach the volume you want |
05Key Features
18 bar manual pump
True espresso-range pressure from hand pumping alone — the first eight strokes build pressure, continued pumping extracts the shot, and fine-ground fresh beans produce a visible layer of crema.
Adjustable 8–12g basket
One removable washer switches between standard and extended dose — no separate accessory, nothing extra to carry or lose.
Eco shell — 20% biomass
The outer body uses a wheat-based polymer to cut virgin plastic use, with all logos moulded directly into the parts rather than printed.
Double-wall thermal body
Insulated walls keep the exterior cool to the touch with boiling water inside — pump safely without gloves, even mid-winter at camp.
Reusable, no paper filters
The pressurised portafilter basket rinses clean — zero consumables beyond coffee and water, and no filter stock to run out of.
Red Dot Design Award
Recognised internationally for combining functional engineering with sustainable materials in a genuinely pocket-sized form.
